Well I did it. I deleted my Mandrake 8.1 install and
put in FreeBSD 4.6 on the 6gigs I cut off from Windoze.

I need more research on how to work it, but I already
did something cool. Non root couldn't start X and i
remembered you need a program Wrapper. I did #Pkg_add
-r wrapper and I got it from an ftp site! Just like
that I could start X as non root. I have KDE running
too but I need a bunch more ports and packages. I asked
for Linux binary compatability and I'll see how far it
gets me. There really is a lot different here than in
RedHat Linux. I need Midnight Commander -- my favorite
little console file manager.
The install isn't as polished as RedHat. I had to learn
about disk slices and choose packages to a great extent.
