[Lvlug] Bug in Athlon regarding AGP

I had problems with linux on my athlon/nvidia geforce2 system.
I would get lockups and x crashes when I used accelerated 3d
and 1600x1200 resolution. I figured it was a bug in the Nvidia
drivers but apparently there is a bug in the Athlon cpu!
According to this at http://www.gentoo.org   you need to run
the system with the kernel parameter mem=nopentium.
I just rebooted after adding the line to grub and I just
played Tuxracer at 1600x1200 without locking up!!!
There was an article on slashdot that pointed me to gentoo's site.
Anybody running linux on an athlon should use this parameter
for now.
