Redhat does ext3 as default on 7.2
It is perfectly compatable with ext2 kernels or partitions.
If you did Reiserfs you would need a reiser module or kernel
to read it. I did Reiser for my Mandrake 8 and 8.1 and it
works fine, but I do see why there are advantages to using
ext3 since it is perfectly readable by any Linux kernel.
