oops, that should be just:

lsmod

and see if NVdriver shows up.

Also, check /etc/modules.conf for the following line:

alias char-major-195 NVdriver

if it is not there, add it.

Try modprobe NVdriver

If all else fails, rebuild the kernel module.

lsmod NVdriver

If nothing happens, remake the Nvidia_kernel driver.
