Did you call HP?  They have been making a lot of noise lately about
supporting linux...  Maybe they don't support linux with your camera,
but you are "casting" a vote for linux support if you phone them about
it.  I enjoy harassing companies with "umm..  You DON'T support linux? 
Well, we'll have to return the product...".  I can be a pain sometimes.
