[Lvlug] Cable or DSL?

homefry,

Yes, I agree 100%.

Anbody: I forget whether I would still need my second telephone line --
can DSL and voice share the same line, even with DSL connected 24/7?

If I can get rid of my second line, that is $15 saved. My current ISP
costs about $15 / month (Fastnet), so now I'm looking at $20 / month
extra to get DSL.

I wonder if they would offer a group discount to the members of the
LVLUG if some number of us signed up? Iff they discounted it to $30 /
month, I would sign up -- it would cost me the same as I'm paying now.

I won't even contact FastNet about such a proposal unless I hear
interest from 4 to 9 others. (Even then, we're a small group. I
wonder about the LVCG??)

Anyway, like Linc said, a dialup modem works, and I think I described by
patent pending T3 browsing technology in an earlier post. (If not,
write back including a signed NDA ;-) )

>From what I've heard so far, I'd go cable or dialup.

Good luck,
