I want to thank all the individuals involved with helping the LVLUG at
the Windows ME event. I feel it was a success and many people showed
interest in using/learning Linux. There were even some who were very
eager. This one gentleman, a younger fellow, could barely contain his
enthusiasm with the Gimp. The first question out of his mouth was how
much did it cost. He almost fell over when I told him the price. He
was then intent on learning where he could download the Gimp. I handed
him the last SuSE 7.0 cd and said here it is. I also issued the proper
precautions with installing Linux and invited him to utilize our
resources. I also mentioned there is a Windows port for the Gimp that
is not as feature-iffic.

Jeff, Jerry, Randy, and Linc: Thanks for donating your time at the
event. You guys did a great job demonstarting Linux and answering
questions.

Thanks to all of you who provided feedback on our documentation and
burning distros.

I would like to offer a special thanks to Jen for the awesome job she
did with the 6.2 distros she burned. Jen put custom labels on each cd
with a colorful LVLUG graphic. They looked damn good Jen and were
gobbled up quickly. Truly a piece of art. Thanks a lot.

I hope we can do more events like this. I learned that I should be
prepared with more flashy programs and displays. People eat that up.
Perhaps we can talk the LVCG into hosting a Linux event like they did
with Windows ME.

Finally, I would like to thank Randy Plessor for inviting our group.
Mr. Plessor provided a great venue. Randy, you did an excellent job
organizing this event. Your PR was right on the money.
