This was sent me by Stuart and I feel that it is valuable to all LVLUG
members. So, Stuart, hope you don't I transferred it to the list
server:
I finally rebooted my RH6.1 box after 44 days. I did it to upgrade to
7.0
A while ago I tried the upgrade to 6.2 but it messed up my ethernet
setup.
Now I did an "upgrade" and the system fails to start the system logger
service. It freezes and after a long time-out it says "failed" Then it
permanently locks up on "Mounting SMB filesystems"
Why can't these guys make an upgrade work?
I don't see any "gotchas" that address this.
Any ideas besides a fresh install of 6.1 or 7.0??
Thanks, Stuart
p.s. this is from a free CDR from Dann so I can't get help from Redhat.
