This is a fallacy spread by many Baptists about Charismatics. I grew up
Baptist. We arrived in Mexico in 1956, sent here by the Baptist General
Conference (Used to be the old Swedish Baptist.) And I still work with many
Baptist churches and friends (and dozens of other denominations). And I have
worked with many Charismatic churches on five continents. I have NEVER met
any of them who claim that tongues are required for salvation.

There ARE some anti-Trinitarian pseudo-Pentecostal groups (I dare NOT call
them Christian!) who claim that nobody is saved, unless they are baptised
"in Jesus' Name. A few of these groups erroneously teach that only those who
speak in tongues are saved. But, guess what? None of these heretical groups
claim to be Charismatic.

For solid doctrine of the Trinity, I very highly reccomend Ford Wilson's
(Yes: My own dear father!) excellent book: The Trinity as Revealed in the
Old Testament. (ISBN: 1602660182) It is not a rehash of other books, but
100% Bible-based.

He has a B.A. from Bethel College and Seminaray, and an M. Div. from Gordon
Conwell.
