The ferrite cores are there to keep radiated signals from getting
into your cables - using them as receiving antennas.
They don't appear to specify the gauge of the wire that they use
so you are forced to take them at their word that any signal into
one end would survive intact at the other.
One needs to know what signal level they tested at 100' and what
is your signal level from your computer to know if it would work
for you.
