Pointing out truth so we don't become too comfortable with
lies is good.

Praying that leaders become God-honoring Biblical Christians
is a command of God.

It is not OR it is AND.

Although we do need to take care that we don't drift into 
the ugly critical spirits that drove them to steal power 
through fraud and lies and which renders them unteachable no 
matter how powerful is the evidence that their choices are 
horrifically destructive.
