I would have to dig a little, but I have read that it could contribute
to alzheimers, dementia, attention deficit disorder, and reduced IQ in
children.  According to some it changes how our brains actually work and

It's possible that most of the fluoride comes our way as a waste
by-product from (aluminum?) smelting.
