Hi Folks,
I just thought I'd drop a line to this list and give you all a quick run-down
of the current state of my OpenLP project.
For those of you who don't know what OpenLP is, it's an open source Church
presentation program, which allows you to project song lyrics, Bible verses,
custom slides, images, videos using a data projector as a second monitor. On
top of that, if you have PowerPoint, PowerPoint Viewer, or OpenOffice.org
Impress installed, OpenLP can integrate with those applications, and you can
control your presentation from within OpenLP!
We've been working hard on version 2.0, which is written in Python, using Qt4
as it's GUI, and the PyQt4 binding to facilitate this. This evening we reached
another minor milestone when we committed revision 600 to trunk!
Some of the other (implemented) features include:
- Plugin architecture
- Auditing plugin to track song usage
- CCLI SongSelect integration (coming soon!)
- Nursery alerts
- Customisable slide themes
- Cross Platform Windows/Linux/Mac OS X/FreeBSD*
* FreeBSD is untested as yet, but should work.
