NetworkManager has caused me grief only when they've done something that
actively breaks it (meaning "totally shot, nm-applet coredumps and
syslog reports about NM itself being horked over"), and both times I've
seen that in the last 3 or 4 years, it was fixed with an updated release
a day later. The last time was due to some sort of device config
conflict vis-à-vis VMware's pseudodriver, about a year or perhaps 18
months ago. (It had to be at least a year ago, because that's when I
gave up VMware for VirtualBox.)

I have no memory of *ever* having ongoing trouble with NM in Fedora.
It's not a "sometimes" app. My laptop is with me everywhere I go,
semi-permanently attached at the shoulder (strap).
