[Linux4christians] Suggestion and puppy question.

Just a thought but it seems it would be better to separate the Linux
technical replies from the Christian teaching. I think combining them
detracts from both.
Just my personal opinion, not a complaint. I am grateful to have the
teaching and to be able ask Christian brothers for help.
We just finished up our missions conference and the Lord is doing great
works in Iran and China. Pray for these people who are willing to die to
spread the gospel and support them financially.
I installed puppy as a dual boot with Ubuntu as a test on an old drive.
I think I followed the instructions to the letter. In the menuLst file
in grub\boot in Ubuntu I copied the code exactly into it and triple
checked it for accuracy. When I rebooted it said error 11 Invalid string
hit escape for boot options. I did and puppy was on top but when I
clicked on it I got the same message. When I clicked on Ubuntu it loaded
but the resolution was stuck at 900x and the lcd screen was horrid, you
could barely read the words. With puppy it was fine at 1100x .
The only things I can add is I lied to the system and told it the drive
was a usb hard disk drive because I forgot to bring the cable so I
attached it to an IDE cable. I intend to use it as a USB drive for
emergency booting. The other thing was , since it did not specify where
to put the code ,I put it as the first sequence near the bottom of the
Menu.lst file
where the other sequences were similar -started with Title etc. Also I
need to mention I installed it as frugal with the puppy file on the
partition with the puppy os.
I am sure there is a simple solution but I am too simple to find it. :}
TIA
