[Linux4christians] HARDWARE LOSSES DOOMED SUN BUT LINUX HURT TOO

As a small side point - the main things that Oracle keeps talking
about as to what they want from Sun are Java and Solaris.  The vast
majority of sizable Oracle installs are on Solaris still rather than
Linux.
Also Sun has remained profitable in 80% of quarters over the last few
years so it isn't really a 'money-loser' either - it just wasn't
growing fast enough for the analysts.
Linux doesn't look to be the downfall of Sun so much as jumping on the
x86 boat a bit late :-)
Rather than dissing Solaris perhaps we should all look at this new
ownership as an opportunity to increase the amount Solaris and Linux
work together
