[Linux4christians] Asus EEEPC1000 10" Notebook $300. More for Linux?

I am looking at the newer netbooks with 10" vs 8.9" displays as
well as Bluetooth and either higher-capacity batteries or 
reasonably
priced high-capacity batteries available.

Anyone chec ked out the difference between the 8.9 & 10" 
displays
who can comment on the value-added or not?

One I looked at was the Asus EEEPC1000 10" Notebook.

They are asking $780. for the Linux model and $480. for 
something
similar with XP.  Am I missing something that would justify the
difference, please?

I see that the Linux model uses a SS vs mechanical HDD but 
$300. extra?

Also, I know that Linux is more valuable than XP but it's free!

I remember not long ago them running ads for $199. for a 
netbook.
