[Linux4christians] embedding graphics in OpenOffice

I just spent some time copying and pasting the 'Get Started With Scribus' article on:
http://wiki.scribus.net/index.php/Get_Started_With_Scribus:1
into OpenOffice.
How can I embed the graphics so that they are not having to be downloaded from the web every time 
I want to view the document (so I can view it 'offline')? If I scroll too fast OpenOffice crashes 
quite easily! :-(
