[Linux4christians] Help with CSS & Drupal?

I don't mean to hijack the thread...BUT...while we are on the subject-

I've just installed gutsy ubuntu on my other sata drive. It's the 32 bit 
version. Whilst installing my standard array of applications I have 
found that synaptic is refusing to install Drupal 5 from the 
repositories due to dependency problems. It keeps screaming for an OLDER 
version of a certain lib. which is not available in the repositories.

Can I get by with downloading the latest druple source (5.6) and 
compiling with what I have?

Any advice on the best way to get druple installed without trashing 
gutsy would greatly be appreciated.
