They had a terrible time with them doing the tax software, for one there wasn't enough memory onboard, then other issues also. They were told by Acer that if they had loaded any software that did not come with the machine, that the warranty was/would be voided. I believe that they got rid of the machines after that incident, and got different ones. Maybe Acer has changed their policy in the last 16-17 years, but I've never bought one after that.
That seems odd. I picked up an Acer Laptop for my daughter, loaded on
the requisite AV and such dross, and added OpenOffice. I am not aware
that I voided my my waranty, and that doesn't seem reasonable to sell a
system and tell the buyer, "oh, BTW put an app on this, and your
warranty is void".
