  That seems odd.  I picked up an Acer Laptop for my daughter, loaded on
the requisite AV and such dross, and added OpenOffice.  I am not aware
that I voided my my waranty, and that doesn't seem reasonable to sell a
system and tell the buyer, "oh, BTW put an app on this, and your
warranty is void".
