[Linux4christians] RE: I NEED HELP WITH 64-BIT MANDRIVA 2006

Dear Friends:

I have 64-bit Mandriva 2006 installed on my laptop, an HP Special Edition
Lance Armstrong unit, with the Turion64 processor and 1-Gig of Ram. (Yes,
it flies!)

Everything works hunky dory (WiFi, Bluetooth, sound, video, etc.) except for
some strange reason, it does not recognize the fact that the laptop has a
PCMCIA slot. When I go into setup and click on PCMCIA, it tells me that I
have none to set up. I have tried re-installing both with and without a card
plugged into the slot, but no success. Do I need to do something to the
kernel maybe?

I tried several other versions of 64-bit Linux on this machine and ALL of them
recognised the PCMCIA without a sneeze. (But none of them worked with my
WiFI nor my video card at the proper settings.)

Any help would certainly be appreciated!

Blessings.
