From Konqueror, the archiving functions are handled by right clicking. Normal
left clicking will simply open the archive and enter it as a directory. If
there's a KIO slave for it, then you can browse (not all programs support
this, gimp for exmple sometimes fails opening files from within an archive),
and perform extraction from the menu you get by right clicking.
Can't help you with the package name for RAR on Debian, but I would expect to
find it in the standard repository. Take a look at rarsoft.com, where you
can get the source.
To see if it's already installed, run '$ rar -v'.
