                                                             JMJ + OBT

It looks like an interesting and potentially useful tool. Thanks for
the link!

Another freely accessible on-line Christian encyclopedia that has
served me as an invaluable reference tool/source is . . .

          The Catholic Encyclopedia (1917 edition)

          http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/

In addition to the encyclopedia, New Advent hosts a freely accessible
"edition" of the works of the Early Church Fathers, translated into
English:

          http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/

(the list is in alphabetical, not chronological, order)

There is also a freely accessible English translation of the St.
Thomas Aquinas' "Summa Theologica":

          http://www.newadvent.org/summa/

New Advent also hosts a freely accessible edition of the Holy Bible,
known as the "Douay Rheims" English translation (it's actually the
"Challoner revision" of the "DR" to be precise); this is an older
translation which is still popular among many English-speaking
Catholic Christians, though a number of modern English translations
are more frequently to be found in Catholic homes and hands these days:

          http://www.newadvent.org/bible/

Finally, the site also has a freely accessible "Library" section,
which hosts copies of historic documents issued by the Catholic
Church (again in alphabetical, not chronological, order):

          http://www.newadvent.org/library/

It would be awesome if the site maintainer/owner would one day
transition the all of the content to a "wiki" powered system, even if
only so readers could note "typos" (much of the transcription work
from the original printed copies was done by volunteers who sent the
completed entries by e-mail to the webmaster) and OCR errors that
they come across when perusing the articles -- I've found more than a
few dozen myself. I've communicate with the man who put it all
together, but at this point he doesn't want to and/or can't afford to
spend the time on such a project.

But even still, it is, in my opinion, a great resource. Enjoy!

While I'm at it, another great freely accessible on-line Christian
learning-tool/resource is the following edition of the modern
universal Catechism of the Catholic Church (often abbreviated CCC;
this is more precisely the "second edition, english translation"
published in 1997):

          http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc.htm

The site has its own, fairly useful, search engine. Another neat way
to search through it is to plug the following into Google:

          site:scborromeo.org inurl:ccc "my search term(s)"

The hyperlinked index is also quite useful (actually, it's _really_
useful):

          http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc/index/a.htm
