Well the new Debian Sarge has just been released.
So it's program versions should only be 2 or 3 steps behind the rest of
the distros. hehehe 

You could have it up and running for weeks b4 that 300mhz got gentoo
installed, /me ducks 

The above 2 snide remarks were attempts at humor, really, so please.
Put your flame throwers back on safety and in their closet. ;-) 

I did run Debian Sid for a number of years on an AMD 350mhz with xfce,
it didn't feel all that slow to me.
