Creating an OS is a HUGE undertaking. If a large project like Debian
has a hard time doing it (still waiting after 2.6 years for a release)
we should not be surprised if it is a very difficult task.
I think you have made the correct choice. Try to see where you can
effectively work on a project and join it. I find that I contribute
little ammounts here and there to the projects that I find and use in
everyday life.
