Amen to that. Here's the lowdown...
Stop bickering. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Aparently there are some people currently on this list who need to let
their knickers out a stitch or two. There are differences of opinion on
*a lot* of things in the Bible. There's a really good reason for that.
There are things in the Bible that were put there by God to speak to ONLY
THE INDIVIDUAL READER. These are the things we see as ambiguous. We seem
to forget too easilly when reading the Bible that we are to have a
PERSONAL relationship with God, and while he may be impressing upon you
that eating balogna is bad, that he really may be talking to *you*.
I have to mention this a lot and that is sad because that is one of the
single most defining miricles of that book, it can and does speak God's
words to us individually as well as in a group. You'll notice that the
group instructions are iron clad as in John 3:16. Other sections are
reserved to give you an avenue to talk with God personally. I have all
sorts of Christian friends and they all see personal revelations in the
Bible that I don't. Some believe alcohol is bad, some believe smoking is
bad, some believe red meat is bad, some believe this and some believe
that. Guess what? We all believe Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior,
and *THAT* is the defining tie here. Don't sweat the little stuff.
