Moving Sucks

Today we got the keys to the house. It’s a bit after 8 and I want to get things rolling. So I figure it’s a good idea, and so does the wife, to start moving my comic books. I just lugged 12 long boxes down to my car. I now have to transport them 10 miles or so and unload them into the house. Man-oh-man, those things are heavy. This is the karmic payback for collecting these past 25 years.

Well, less jibber-jabbing and more moving.

  1. Allen,

We are both giving the same x-mas gift this year. The gift of a new home to call our own. Yes moving sucks. I moved half my house last night. The reset of the house is going today. I doesn’t help that my baby desided that the pack-and-play was an evil place and didn’t want to sleep in it last night.

Over all, congratulations on the new home. Two pieces of advice; 1) run ethernet ASAP. 2) do your painting before all the big stuff is against to the walls.

    Peace,

    :)

I haven’t moved for several years at this point, and I can’t say I’m looking forward to the next move at all, though we did have a “great purge” last summer where we got rid of all the crap we’d been hoarding for no reason – books, clothes, VHS tapes, computers, monitors, etc – so it should be easier next time ’round.
