Root Menu Configuration Part 3

Menu item can be highlighted by left clicking on the item. Double left-clicking will all one to change the name of the menu item. After the name has been changed the enter key must be pressed before focus is switched to another item or window.

In the example below, the item "run program" that was dropped into the "Graphics" submenu was selected and the named changed. The new name is "Icesculptor." Again, after the new name was typed, the enter key was pressed to confirm the change. Had the enter key not been pressed, the menu item would have reverted back to the original name.

Once the item has been added to the root menu and named, there may more information that is required. In the example above, the new program must now be given an execution command. This information is supplied in the Application Menu Definetion window. For this specific program, the execution command is "icesculptor." Make sure any command that is to be executed from the root menu is in your path. If you are unsure whether the program is in your path, or you know that it is not in your path, then then full path context must be added to the command. For instance, the full path for icesculpture is /usr/bin/icesculptor. If /usr/bin was not in my path, I would put the full context in the window.

You can also supply a keyboard shortcut to launch the application. When the Capture button is depressed, any keys pressed will appear in the Keyboard Shortcut window.

Again, all changes made must be saved before WPrefs or another configuration window is opened.
