crying my eyes out

On a sad note; Lug Co-Founder Dann Washko will be moving soon out of state. While I still expect him to be an active listmember, I don't expect to see him attend many meetings anymore. Dann, you'll be sorely missed!!

LVLUG Member Projects

Church Server Project

Valerie Haring and LVLUG member Jen Hess began a series of computer classes to introduce newbies to computers, word processing, and the Internet at Christ United Methodist Church in Easton. The setup consists of about 15 workstations running Windows 95. LVLUG member Stuart Boreen donated a beefier Pentium based system running Red Hat 7.2. The plan is to eventually provide email, IRC, use SQUID as a cached proxy, and implement a TWiki. TWiki user and LVLUG member Randy Kramer has been assisting the project by configuring the services on the server. For more information on the project, visit Church Server Project at twiki.org.

njlinux

LVLUG member Faber Fedor runs a consulting business called Linux New Jersey. LinuxNJ specializes in OpenSource solutions. For more information, please visit www.linuxnj.com.

Linux for Christians

Linc Fessenden,LVLUG co-founder and Pastor, has created a site to promote the use of Linux for Christian endeavors. Linc hosts a mailing list which generates some pretty interesting ideas. Please visit www.thelinuxlink.net/l4c for more information.

Dann's Slack Packages

LVLUG co-founder Dann S. Washko celebrates his love for Slackware by making available a number of packages that are not included in the standard Slackware distro, and/or may not be currently found at www.linuxpackages.net. Most of these packages are for Slackware 8.0. LVLUG friend Brain Hechinger has generously provided server space for these packages so that interested parties can enjoy T1 downloads. Thanks Brian!. Dann's slack site can be found at slack.spankalinuxmonkey.org. We can also thank Brian for registering that interesting domain.
