Check out the comments on the video. All of them are trashing this general review of netbooks. First of all, you have Sumi Das. She was great to look at during the TechTV days, but even that's not much anymore. She's just a reporter...nothing more. And this guy? This is the editor-in-chief? To what?!? He practically talking out of his ass and it's obvious that he's never used any of these devices on a daily basis. He should just focus on his "fantasy football" stats and leave the tech to those that REALLY know about it.

I was playing with a eeepc at Best Buy last night, and I was pretty impressed. Amazing how tiny. The only negative thing with the eeepc was that the keyboard and mouse buttons were too cheap looking, and one of the keyboard keys looked like it was slightly damaged from demo use. Still nifty little gadget. I'd be curious to play with one for a while to see how typing on the keyboard would be. I'd be curious to play with the Dell version which looks like the one to own to me so far.

Yes, those points you mentioned were the same things that turned me off from the Eee PC. I haven't tinkered much with anything beyond the 701 model, so I'm not sure about the quality of the others. I've personally played around with the Acer Aspire One and it felt great, although the buttons did take some getting used to. It felt like it was built more solidly than the Eee PC 701. I have yet to try out the Dell Inspirion Mini 9 and the HP MiniNote 1000, both of which are also future considerations aside from the Acer.
